Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS)

Cardinal Care program

LTSS services are covered under the Cardinal Care program. This program covers a wide variety of long-term services and supports that help improve quality of life for elderly and disabled individuals. Services are provided over an extended period, predominantly in an Anthem HealthKeepers Plus member’s home and community. LTSS covered services include assistance with basic activities of daily life and self-care, as well as support for everyday tasks such as laundry, shopping, and transportation.

Electronic visit verification

Electronic visit verification (EVV) uses technology to record the timing and location of caregivers or direct service workers during appointment check-in and check-out. HealthKeepers, Inc. requires use of EVV for certain services rendered to Anthem HealthKeepers Plus members, including personal care, respite and companion services.

Critical incident reporting

HealthKeepers, Inc. has a critical incident reporting and management system for incidents that occur in nursing facilities, inpatient behavioral health or HCBS setting (for example, adult day care center, member’s home or any other community-based setting), among other settings.
