At Home COVID-19 Tests

The purpose of All Plan Letter (APL) 22-009 is to provide information to Medi-Cal Managed Care (Medi-Cal) on changes to federal and state requirements for COVID-19 testing, treatment, and prevention.  Providers should review this APL to stay up to date on COVID-19 guidance.

Payment for COVID-19 testing services on or after January 1, 2022

Please be advised that, while awaiting further guidance from the Department of Managed Health Care (DMHC)/ Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) regarding SB510, Anthem Blue Cross will pay Medi-Cal claims for COVID-19 testing incurred on or after January 1, 2022, according to the specific rates defined by the state, excluding OTC tests, regardless of risk type.
