Health education — Helping our members

Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield (Anthem) advocates a community approach to health education and outreach activities and has a proven record of collaborating with community- and faith-based organizations, advocacy groups, and other community resources.

Our relationships have allowed us to effectively provide education and outreach activities through health fairs, community events, free health screenings, as well as develop specific health initiatives for the target population. Our health education and outreach approach emphasizes healthy behaviors, preventive care, and wellness.

Additionally, we offer National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA)-accredited condition care programs that incorporate outreach, education, care coordination, and follow-ups to improve treatment compliance and enhance self-care.

Tobacco Quit Line

Anthem is working continuously to provide our members with helpful information to promote physical and behavioral wellness. We are collaborating with the Ohio Department of Health’s Tobacco Quit Line (QL) to help identify members who smoke or have asked for assistance to quit smoking or using tobacco products. Please use the link to the Tobacco Quit Line for more information about the benefits of quitting, providers who offer counseling, and covered cessation products.
