SUD instructions: residential services billing update

Use the following guidelines when submitting claims for substance use disorder (SUD) services provided in a residential treatment center for Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield members.

School-based clinic resource guide

School-based clinics help provide a convenient point of care site for underserviced children and adolescents throughout Indiana. Medicaid pays for healthcare and related services provided through Indiana Medicaid and covered services specified in an Individual Education Plan (IEP) as outlined in the Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

Quarterly pharmacy formulary change notice

Effective November 1, 2021, the preferred formulary changes detailed in the table below will apply to Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield members enrolled in Hoosier Healthwise, Hoosier Care Connect, and Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP).

Behavioral health midlevel providers may not bill E&M services codes

Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield wants to reiterate that behavioral health and substance use midlevel practitioners (such as social workers, marriage and family therapists, psychologists, etc.) are not permitted to perform or supervise medical services.

That’s why we encourage all our moms-to-be to take part in our New Baby, New LifeSM program, a comprehensive, proactive case management and care coordination program for all expectant mothers and their newborns.

Behavioral health

We work collaboratively with hospitals, group practices and independent behavioral healthcare providers, community and government agencies, human service districts, and other resources to successfully meet member needs related to mental health, substance use, and intellectual and developmental disabilities.
