We’re glad to hear that you are interested in joining the Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Medicaid (Anthem) network. We have a diverse network of exceptional healthcare professionals who ensure our members have uninterrupted access to the health care they need.
You make your patients' lives better. We'll do the same for you.
Our prior authorization, referrals, claims and payment processes are streamlined to help you focus on what you do best — caring for your patients.
You can start an online application to join the Anthem provider network at any time.
Eligible providers applying with Anthem must be enrolled through the state and have an active Medicaid number. Kentucky providers requesting Medicaid with Kentucky must be registered with Kentucky Health Information Exchange, KHIE.
We are happy to talk with you about joining the Anthem provider network If you have questions or are not yet ready to start the online application process.
If you have contract questions, please call National Provider Solutions (NPS) at 1-800-205-5870.
Credentialing with Anthem
Credentialing is the process Anthem uses to evaluate and select licensed independent practitioners to provide care to our members:
Anthem uses CAQH (Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare) ProView™ to collect and verify healthcare professionals’ qualifications, including certification, training, licensure and registration to practice.
This secure and private portal reduces the amount of paperwork you need to fill out to complete the credentialing process.
If you have a CAQH user ID, please make sure to give Anthem authorization to view your CAQH credentialing information. For help with this, you can contact CAQH online or call CAQH at 1-888-599-1771.
Who do we credential?
We credential licensed healthcare professionals with whom the company intends to contract and market to our members. Our Program Summary includes a complete list of provider types we credential and those we do not.
Please note: Facilities (Health Delivery Organizations) may also need to be credentialed before joining the network.
